A family
tradition

In Cascina Giambolino we daily commit to respect the values and the traditions handed down by those who preceded us, transmitting you our passion through the products of the land and the tasting experiences designed for you.

Vineyard

Our vineyards cover about 10 hectares, entirely
entirely located in Villaromagnano (AL) municipality, on the hill of Fonti village and along Piasèra or Rampina road, whose vineyards are situated on the hillside awarded as Unesco Viticultural Landscape in 2017.
The main grape varieties are Barbera and Timorasso, but a large space is dedicated to other excellent Colli Tortonesi D.O.C. grapes, like Croatina and Cortese.

Crops

The cultivated land extends for about 30 hectares, located in the municipalities
around the farm.
Corn and sorghum, used as main food for the cattle, is alternated with barley.
These crops, on hilly terrains, are rotated with broad bean, alfalfa, forage and loiessa, used for the animal feed.

Cascina Giambolino is the zero-mile agricultural partner of Buonovero, a food truck that prepares tasty and crunchy smashburgers with the meat of Piedmontese Fassone cattle, raised on our farm.

They are often guests at the Cascina on the occasion of Smash&Wine tastings, organized both in vineyards and on the farm.

Our oldest vineyards are about 70 years old and belonged to Lele’s grandfather, vine grower who sold the grapes to the wine cooperative.
In 1991 Azienda Agricola Nicoletta Calandra winery was founded,

named after Lele’s mother, the owner since 1991, who for the first time converted the harvest of grapes for the delivery, in a process aimed at internal vinification and bottling.

After a few years in which the production of meat and cold cuts prevailed, in 2019 the brand Cascina Giambolino was born, becoming official with the takeover of Lele to his mother in 2021, with which a real renaissance of the wine sector took place, with the renovation of the cellar, the renewal of the labels and the design of a new commercial image of the company.
